Competitive Play

Tennis

Pennant Play

Centrally governed, managed, and administered by Tennis West. The objective is to provide team inter-club competitions for members of affiliated tennis clubs/associations and to enable players, who have reached the standard of the various divisions, an equal opportunity to play against players of similar ability over a given period. Juniors, Seniors, Women, and Men teams are selected each September for a season run from November through March with a break in January. The teams are comprised of six members each. Matches are played on hard and grass courts at the club on alternate weekends. Play commences at 1:00 pm; however, occasional evening matches are scheduled. Training sessions are organized on both hard and grass courts. For more information, please contact our Tennis Activities director. Cost: TBD by the Tennis Activities Director prior to the start of the season. All players must be full financial members prior to participating.

Club Championships

Held annually and announced in the newsletter and on the MPTC calendar. All members are eligible and encouraged to compete in singles and doubles play. The format of the events is determined by the Tennis Activities Director based on the number of entries and possible weather interruptions. Trophies are awarded to all winners and presented at the Presentation Dinner. Please see the club calendar or contact our Tennis Activities director for more information.

Handicap Tournaments

Held annually and are open to all members. A Tournament Committee will assign partners for all doubles events and determine the scoring and handicaps for players. A Round Robin format is used. Trophies are awarded and presented at the annual Presentation Dinner. Please see the club calendar or contact our Tennis Activities director for more information. Cost: Entry fees and payment methods are listed when tournaments are announced.
