The inaugural Kevin Farrell Golf Cup (KFC) was held earlier this week and was enjoyed by all.
Weather was perfect, 28 starters, the scene was set and Kevin signalled the start of this new Annual Event on the MPTC calendar by teeing off with an exploding ball.
As the groups came in after their rounds – anticipation was high and the stories of great shots and not so great shots began to unfold.
A fine spread of food and drinks were consumed and a “Putting Competition for a nice bottle of Chivas Regal ” was won by Mike Kessell while the scoring was tallied.
In a fairy tale result – the cup was won by Kevin Farrell and Mark Rule in a very tight finish.
Kevin made a fine acceptance speech and thanked all competitors and in particular the group of Shelley, Peter and Sandra who arranged the event.
Longest drive was won by Shelley Wilson and closest to the pin by Doug Wilson.
With donated prizes presented we continued the stories of the day till dark and then all headed home safely.
At 93 years of age a remarkable man and result.
Thanks everyone for participating and plans for next year’s event promises to be bigger and better.
