Final Round

FINAL ROUND. This again gave us a drawn game so everyone scored 1 game to start with. We had no one select 9/9 but two selected 8/9, both missing a different game. These two clever people were David Kitto and Mark Rule. Well done guys.

With the ladder and our winners we finished with a draw at the Top. On the great score of 129 games we have Betty Hanley and Marion Lake. Great tipping ladies. Betty and Marion share the combined 1st and 2nd prize money and collect $212-50 each. Just two game further back on 127 was Helen Doig being in third position and Helen collects $125-00 third prize money plus $100-00 for 9/9 during the season making a total of $225-00. Well done Helen. This means our three top tipsters are ladies. Helen was followed just one game back by Chris Wilson on 126 and Faye Scorer on 124.

As the jackpot of $360-00 was not picked, this is then paid to the “other end” of our ladder and again we had a draw here. Sharing this jackpot money are Della Chamberlain and Danika Squiers who take home $180-00 each.

A total $1,470-00 was shared by 14 people.

We would like to thank everyone for taking part in our tipping competition this year, especially after the Covid mess of 2020 and we look forward to hopefully everyone joining us again in 2022.

Many thanks

CHRIS & NOLA WILSON

Many thanks must go to Chris & Nola Wilson for running such an entertaining competition every year since 2011, for raising money for the club, and for sharing money with the participants.

Thanks, Chris & Nola!

Round 22

ROUND 22 and again what a round it was … the top team being beaten by a team out of the eight as were other teams in the eight trying to hold onto their position in the eight with one game to go. Even now, the top eight and even the top four positions can change drastically after next week’s games. It’s just a matter of “wait and see”

No one selected the magic 9/9, but one person did select 8/9, so here we say well done to Carole Indriolo for some great tipping.

The ladder leaders group is one of the most exciting in years. On 123 we have Betty Hanley, followed by Marion Lake on 122, Helen Doig on 120, Chris Wilson on 119 and Gail Harper and Faye Scorer on 118, so any of these could be in to win the cash for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. Our final jackpot is an amazing $360-00 next week, which MUST be won. If none selects 9/9, the jackpot is paid to the person with the lowest score on the ladder and at this stage we have a tie here with Della Chamberlain and Danika Squiers both on 88, so good luck to EVERYONE

Round 21

ROUND 21 gave us some very unexpected results with just two of the top four teams having a win and the other two being beaten by teams who were outside the top eight. With both local teams being beaten, does not help with our tipping. No one selected the 9/9 but Ted Bulluss did select 7/9 and was our best tipster for the weekend. Well done Ted.

We currently have joint leaders with both being on 117. We congratulate Betty Hanley and Lena Wilkinson for their great tipping. They are closely followed by Marion Lake on 116, Helen Doig on 115, Greg Harper on 113, and on 112 we have Gail Harper, Faye Scorer, Tim & Ridg, and Chris Wilson. With just two rounds to go it would be expected that out winners will come from this group, but then funnier things have happened.

Our jackpot has not gone off over the last few weeks so next week our jackpot is worth $320-00 so keep those fingers crossed and good luck to everyone.

CHRIS & NOLA WILSON

Round 18

ROUND 18 showed better results in our tipping and with a drawn game, everyone got at least one winner. No one achieved the perfect score but four people did score 8/9. Well done to Mark Chamberlain, Betty Hanley, Roger Hooper (our international tipster in London) and Don Wilson.

Our leader is still Marion Lake who is on 104. Great tipping Marion. Marion is very closely followed by Lena Wilkinson on 103, Betty Hanley on 102, and Helen Doig on 101.

With no winner this week, our jackpot next week is $200-00. With the uncertainty for future rounds, please read our comments below.

CHRIS & NOLA WILSON

WITH COVID AFFECTING THE AFL THIS WEEKEND, THE AFL HAVE ADVISED ALL CLUBS THAT WITH 45 GAMES LEFT TO COMPLETE THE REGULAR SEASON, CLUBS WILL FACE THE FIVE TEAMS THEY HAVE BEEN FIXTURED TO PLAY, BUT THE ORDER OF THOSE GAMES COULD CHANGE COMPLETELY.

IT HAS BEEN DECIDED THAT TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH ANY CHANGES, OUR TIPPING COMPETITION ROUNDS WILL REMAIN AS IS, SO IF TWO GAMES ARE CHANGED FROM ROUND 19 TO ROUND 21 AND 23, OUR ROUND 19 CANNOT BE COMPLETED UNTIL THAT GAME IN ROUND 23 IS PLAYED. THEREFORE, UNFORTUNATELY, NO RESULTS WILL BE SENT OUT AFTER TODAY UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON. THIS WILL ALSO MAKE IT INTERESTING AS YOU WILL NOT KNOW IF THE JACKPOT HAS GONE OFF AND WHO THE CURRENT LEADERS ARE.

ALL THE BEST TO ALL CLUBS, THEIR PLAYERS AND OUR FAITHFUL TIPSTERS.

CHRIS AND NOLA

Round 17

ROUND 17 gave us the hardest to try and select a winner, with only one team winning “at home” This gave us the lowest scoring results with the average being 3/9. Ten people picked 1/9 and just one person picked a great scoring result with 6/9, and for that, we say WELL DONE to Stella Squiers.

As a result of this difficult tipping this week, we now have a new leader on our ladder. Our leader is now Marion Lake who is on 97. Well done Marion. Marion is followed by Lena Wilkinson on 96, then Helen Doig on 95, then Betty Hanley and Chris Wilson on 94, so with just six rounds to go “anything can happen”.

With no winner this week, our jackpot climbs to $160-00 for round 18 so good luck everyone. Keep those fingers crossed.

NOLA AND CHRIS WILSON

Round 16

ROUND 16 again seemed very hard to pick a winner with three games being decided by less than 2 goals, and another three games being huge wins, but even those with big margins were hard to pick. We did however have three people select 7/9 and here we say well done to Ted Bulluss, Kevin Farrell and Annette Peacock. Great tipping folks.

Helen Doig still remains our leader but has been joined by Marion Lake and Lena Wilkinson with all three on a score of 94. Just two games back on 92 we have Betty Hanley and Chris Wilson, and a further two games back on 90, we have Greg Harper and “Tim & Rodg” so with just 7 more rounds the pressure is on.

With no winner again this week, next week we have $120-00 up for the taking so keep those fingers crossed that your tipping at the start of the year was right on the ball.

Round 15

ROUND 15 was a terrible round to try and select winners – with Richmond scoring one of their lowest scores ever. The virus closed Optus Stadium so West Coast played to an empty stadium with no supporters. The highest score for our tipping was 6/9 with just six people successful in that – ANZACS, David Kitto, Marion Lake, Mark Rule, Lena Wilkinson and Chris Wilson. Well done to those six people.

Helen Doig is STILL our leader and is now on a score of 90! Well done Helen. Very close behind Helen are Marion Lake and Lena Wilkinson on 88, followed on 86 by Betty Hanley, Greg Harper and Chris Wilson. With no winner this weekend, next weekend our jackpot is $80-00 so, good luck everyone.

NOLA AND CHRIS WILSON

Round 14

ROUND 14 gave us the last of the “bye” rounds where we only had to try and pick 6 winners. We had four people with the perfect score this week and those clever people are Ted Bulluss, Greg Harper, Faye Scorer and Steve Taylor – well done. The four of them share the jackpot of $40-00 and collect $10-00 each.

Helen Doig still remains our leader after scoring 5/6 and is now on 85, closely followed by Betty Hanley, Marion Lake and Lena Wilkinson all on 82, with Greg Haper on 81.

Next week we revert to having to select 9/9 to collect the jackpot of another $40-00, so good luck to everyone

CHRIS & NOLA WILSON

Round 13

ROUND 13 … With only 6 games to select for OUR tipping competition, and a drawn game giving everyone at least one winner, it should have been easy to pick all six winners, BUT, we only had one person that managed to do this. We congratulate Mike Eames in selecting 6/6 and he has won the jackpot of $120-00. Well done Mike.

We had three people with 5/6 – Carole Indriolo, Mike Kessell and Danika Squiers – well done.

Helen Doig remains our leader and is now on 80, but the gap is closing, with Betty Hanley, Marion Lake and Lena Wilkinson on 77, and on 76 we have Gail Harper and Chris Wilson.

With the West Coast vs Richmond game played this weekend but in OUR round 14 tipping, a lot of people are already 1/1 for next week, the last of the 6 game rounds, so good luck with our jackpot reverting tp $40-00 for next week.

NOLA AND CHRIS WILSON

Round 12

ROUND 12 gave us some great footy to watch, especially having the Dreamtime game in Perth. Good to watch this round but difficult to select 6 winners – no one achieved this. We did have 7 people select 5/6 missing various games. These clever people are Mary Carr, Mark Chamberlain, Mike Eames, Betty Hanley, Roger Hooper, Annette Peacock and Danika Squiers. Well done.

Helen Doig remains our leader on 78, but catching up we have Lena Wilkinson on 75; Gail Harper and Marion Lake on 74; and Betty Hanley and Nola Wilson on 73. Where are all the men? With no winner this week we have $120-00 up for the taking next week – all you have to do is select 6 winners.

THE AFL HAVE ANNOUNCED THAT THE “WEST COAST vs RICHMOND” GAME THAT WAS SCHEDULED FOR ROUND 14 WILL BE MOVED FORWARD TO ROUND 13. HOWEVER, FOR OUR TIPPING COMPETITION THE RESULT FOR THIS GAME WILL REMAIN IN ROUND 14 SO THAT BOTH OF THE NEXT ROUNDS WILL HAVE 6 GAMES.
